To Do

Once upon a time we had a white board, but along our many moves it went missing and I was going to buy a new on when I got the idea to make my own it is so much prettier then the white boards you can buy...I am not all neat and organized like all of you out there in blogland.. I am constantly trying to remember what it was i needed to buy.. Etc.. this helps a little...lol

I picked up a picture frame and went to work with all the paper and supplies I had here... I am sure this is not a new idea to all of you but I thought it was kind of fun...

It took me a little adjusting to get things where I wanted them but after i did it was all done I just put the frame back together and write on the glass with a dry erase marker
Also I bought a frame that was kind of thick so i have a place to sit the marker BUT most come with a magnet on them so you could adhere one to the frame and store the marker that way.....

Monkey Mix

Monkey mix or whatever it is called in your house I have found a million names but it is a nice fast treat when it is already too warm to be cooking, Olivia loves to help me make it and eat it of course.. lol

Here is the method:
Measure the cereal and set aside

Mix chocolate, margarine and peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 1 minute, Stir, microwave for another 30 seconds or until smooth

Pour over cereal and gently stir to coat

put into a large plastic bag and add confectioners sugar, toss to coat..

Place in air tight container

ENJOY!

The Recipe
9C. Chex ( I used Crispix)
1/2C. Peanut butter
1/4C Margarine or butter
1C. Semisweet chocolate chips

Shirts for the little ladies...

As a kid I always hated the fact that my mom dressed me and my sister the exact same, but as an adult I would see pics of siblings in coordinating outfits and think how cute they were... I am sure when my Mom sees the girls dressed in coordinating outfits I will get a little flack, all in good fun of course...

Here was my problem I needed clothes in 2 totally different sizes, and I could not find anything to do the trick...

So I made my own, they are a work in progress but i will attempt them again; the technique? reverse applique...Overall I am pretty happy with the end result...

What do you think?

I would love to share a pic of the girls in them but like a fool our first outing in them was berry picking and they did not fair so well so they are in the wash... lol

The technique was easy I printed the letters off of the computer so I could get the sizes I needed.. Smaller for the K than the O to fit the shirts better...

I then drew them on the BACK of my printed fabric..I had to do the K backwards for it to show the right way on the finished product.. ( learned the hard way...lol). I cut these out leaving about 1/2 fabric around the letters and then pined them to the inside of the shirt..I sewed right on my traced lines.. A small stitch worked best...

Then turned the shirt with the right side out and very carefully cut just the white shirt away.. my scissors were not quite small enough so this step is a little messier than I would have liked...

What got me started

As a simple project while browsing the web I found beautiful glass tile pendants; always being a sucker for jewelery I knew I had to give them a try.. I was hooked, I found an awesome supply company and after showing them to friends I had requests almost right away.. So I decided that maybe I could make a few dollars off my hobby and got to work making them...

My most recent projects

I thought I would start with my most recent projects, that is the way I work always doing things backwards...lol
I wanted my girls to have pretty princess tutu's but was not willing to pay +$30 a piece for them so I went about making them myself.. After lots of cutting I finally had a result I was happy with...

Next was a blanket for Kayleigh, She loves her sister's however when bedtime comes Livy takes hers to bed and Kayleigh was left with none.. This is the end result... Not too bad for a first try :)
